Features of El Capitan OSX 10.11 which Apple didn't talk about in WWDC 2015

WWDC 2015 Monday’s keynote talk was an amazing day with bunch of announcements that included iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, watchOS 2, Apple Music, the News app in iOS 9 and updates to Apple Pay, so much so that Tim Cook had to immediately cut to the chase and skip his opening round of business updates (“Everything is going fine”, he joked).

There just wasn’t enough time to talk about every little enhancement and nice-to-have so Apple execs focused on big ones that make for great headlines while relegating a bunch of platform updates, that mostly matter to developers anyway, to a single slide. Apple didn't talk about these OSX features that you will be getting with this release. Every small little amazing features -

OS X El Capital hidden features:

  1. New system font
  2. Flights data detector
  3. New color picker
  4. Find My Friends widget
  5. Photos editing extensions
  6. New Dictionary languages
  7. Last search
  8. Arabic and Hebrew dictation
  9. Keyboard shortcut for Chinese to English
  10. Safari top hit in Spotlight
  11. Resizable Spotlight window
  12. Suggested contacts
  13. Mute a tab
  14. Redesigned crayon picker
  15. Rename from context menu
  16. Chinese multiple-character input
  17. Time to leave
  18. Redesigned Disk Utility
  19. Improved Pinyin predictions
  20. Improved AutoFill
  21. Shared Links extensions
  22. AirPlay video
  23. Strikethrough in Mail format tab
  24. File copy resume
  25. Copy file path in Finder
  26. Autohide menu bar
  27. New Japanese input method
  28. Create reminder from Share menu
  29. New Chinese system font
  30. Suggested events
  31. Custom font in Safari Reader

Again, most of these aren’t headline features and as such will cater mostly to power users and those who write software for a living. But as these technologies make their way into your favorite Mac apps this fall, their impact on your desktop computing should be as profound as ever.

Anything in particular features caught your eye? I mostly liked the Spotlight features of the next El Capitan. Do you want to update to OS X ?
